Anyone? Anyone at all?


As a teacher I often had occasion to discuss the difference between fact and opinion with my students. By way of illustration, I would say…
Suppose your mother needed brain surgery. Well, I have a twelve-year-old nephew who believes he can do the surgery. Would you send your mother to my nephew or to a doctor?

Today, Americans are being presented with what is essentially the same choice, but it's not coming from a teacher interested in having them learn the importance of having facts to back up one's opinion. It's coming from a politician who is interested only in himself, who believes he is the smartest person in the country, and whose facts come from his gut.
