Roberts slams Schumer for 'dangerous' rhetoric against justices
The chief justice rebuked the Senate minority leader for saying Gorsuch and Kavanaugh ‘will pay the price’ if they cut back abortion rights.![](https://static.politico.com/dims4/default/18e18ea/2147483647/resize/1160x/quality/90/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fstatic.politico.com%2Fd7%2F5b%2F9f4cccb748d1a5293fcd4984239f%2F200304-john-roberts-gty-773.jpg)

Observation:
He sat stoically by as Republican Senators made a mockery of their oath to the Constitution, first refusing to allow the House managers to call witnesses and then declaring Donald Trump innocent of the impeachable crimes they all agreed he had committed. One might have surmised his behavior was rooted in a commitment to impartial justice.
Now John Roberts has shown himself to be as corrupt and partisan as those senators, censuring Chuck Schumer for dangerous rhetoric against Justices Gorsuch and Kavanaugh while ignoring the similarly dangerous tweets Donald Trump made against Justices Sotomayor and Ginsburg.
Assessment:
In the current Supreme Court, Chief Justice John Roberts now functions as the Chief of Injustice.
